Use and maintenance: 

The Maysternya cast iron pot comes without factory seasoning, which means that the pot must be prepared (seasoned) before the first use.

• Initial preparation: Heat the pot for 10–15 minutes until it stops smoking. Then heat coarse salt in the pot until the salt changes color (about 5–10 min). Then let the pot cool down and coat the inner and outer surfaces of the pot with a thin layer of cooking oil.

• Cleaning: Wash the pot with warm water. Do not use strong detergents or a dishwasher. Detergents remove the cast iron's natural protective layer, and the pot will start to stick to food.

• Storage: After washing, dry the pot thoroughly (you can also do this by heating it on the stove) and lightly coat the pot's surface with oil to prevent rust.
