Use and maintenance:

The Maysternya cast iron pan comes without factory seasoning, which means that the pan must be prepared (seasoned) before the first use.

• Initial preparation: Heat the pan for 10–15 minutes until it stops smoking. Then heat coarse salt in the pan until the salt changes color (about 5–10 min). Then let the pan cool down and coat the inner and outer surfaces with a thin layer of cooking oil.

• Cleaning: Wash the pan with warm water. Do not use strong detergents or a dishwasher. Detergents remove the the cast iron's natural protective layer, and the pan will start to stick to food.

• Storage: After washing, dry the pan thoroughly (you can also do this by heating it on the stove) and lightly coat the the pan's surface with oil to prevent rust.
